What's On Guide Spring 2026

Longford Lights 19-22 February 2026

Longford Lights (LL) is a large outdoor art spectacle using the theme of illuminated light form and significant emphasis of community participation and socially engaged art practices.
LL is currently the largest attended arts festival in Irish Midlands and has focused a lot of positive attention on Longford Town and the county's other cultural and tourist offerings.

There are two new ambitious elements to the festival this year. The festival is producing a large installation along the entire length of Breaden's Lane with access through Pig Market Lane. This is a free event designed to draw people up through Longford Town. Glow on the Go is a nighttime bicycle parade happening on two nights. It tours around Longford Town and involves members of the Longford branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association and Heartland Freewheelers. This is the first event of its kind in Ireland.

Festival Programme is available to read online on LongfordLights.ie

Féile Joe Callaghan 20-21 February 2026

Féile Joe Callaghan is a two-day programme of music, workshops and entertainment, promoting traditional Irish music and including Seisiún Ceoil with recitation and singing "as Gaeilge" and Céilí dancing.
