LCDC

The Local Community Develoment Committee

The Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) is a committee of the Council and its primary role is to develop, co-ordinate and implement a coherent and integrated approach to local and community development. 

Generally, the LCDC meets every 2 months and the business of the meeting is transacted in accordance with adopted Standing Orders.

The primary work of the LCDC includes the advancing of the following initiatives:

  • Community Enhancement Programme (CEP)
  • Healthy Ireland (HI)
  • Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP)
  • National Community Weekend "The Big Hello"
  • Rural Development Programme (LEADER)
  • Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme (SICAP)
