Barley Harbour is located in south-west Longford on the shores of Elfleet Bay on Lough Ree, approximately 5 kilometres from the village of Newtowncashel. The harbour provides safe and open access onto the lake to the general public. Here boats may be launched by way of a stone-paved slipway and safe temporary mooring points are available. The harbour offers picturesque views of Lough Ree and the surrounding countryside set literally on your doorstep making it a perfect location for water activities.
Although the harbour was constructed in the 1950's, its fine stonework and serene atmosphere suggest a far greater antiquity. The adjacent picnic area is a perfect spot to relax and take in the glorious views of the lake.
Lough Ree Boat Hire organise guided tours to Barley Harbour, for more information please contact them.
