Lough Ree Angling Hub

Promoting fishing and angling tourism at Lanesborough on the Longford/Roscommon boarder, Lough Ree Angling Hub are the home of the world renowned ‘Hot Water Stretch’ on the mighty river Shannon at the north end of Lough Ree.  The area is famous for producing some of the best coarse and pike angling in Europe, with regular specimen fish caught and huge nets of wild Irish bream, roach and hybrids along with some of the finest tench and rudd to be found anywhere in Ireland.  

Lough Ree Angling Hub set about bringing world class fishing competitions to the town and June and September offer coarse fishing competitions with up to €10,000 in prize money.  They are also involved in the very popular Lough Ree Monster Festival which takes place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
