  • Rob Strong - live at Backstage Theatre, Friday 30th September, 8pm.  Celebrating 60 years on the road this year, catch this Blues/Soul singer live in Longford, not to be missed!  For tickets see

  • Sat 1st Oct, 2pm-6pm Temperance Hall EMH Longford Multicultural Show—Swang, Irish & Asian performances and Fashion Show, part of the Longford Live & Local events.  See for more info.

  • Whiskey Tasting, as part of #irishwhiskeyharvest, in Lough Ree Distillery in Lanesborough, this Saturday 1st October at 2pm. Come along, tour Ireland’s newest and smallest Whiskey Distillery, sample some of their award-winning Spirits and get to know more about Lough Ree Distillery’s story and future plans. Tickets are currently available to purchase online at:

  • 1st—14th October daily at Granard Library, Longford Photography Exhibition by Berry Jam Studios.  

  • Foigha Lounge, Kenagh have Sunday night music from Tapestry kicking off at 9.30pm.

  • Farmers Market - every Friday, Market Square, Longford from 9am- 2pm. Delicious, local fresh produce for all to enjoy.

  • Calling all men & women…Social dancing at Murphys Crossroads Inn- jive, waltz, quick step, line dance..  Have fun, get fit, meet new people, every Friday, 8pm-9.30pm. 

  • Music every weekend in Adies Bar, Lanesborough.  Come in and enjoy some live music and sample their new cocktail menu!

  • Longford Parkrun – every Saturday morning at 9.30am – The Mall, Longford, all welcome!

  • Clarkes Bar, Lanesborough has music every Monday night in the front bar with Joe Duffy. Great sing song and craic on the night with the locals and everyone welcome to join in. Every Wednesday night is Traditional Irish Music with Noel Carberry, Jimmy Flanagan and friends.

  • Pig Market Lane is open every Saturday from 10am to 4pm.  Located right beside Herterich Butchers on Ballymahon Street featuring a wide array of artisan food & craft stalls.  

  • Live music every Saturday evening in the front lounge bar, Longford Arms Hotel with Pascal & Davy.  Social Dancing Sundays with live music and dancing, doors open from 8.30pm.  

  • Longford Tennis Club - Coaching available every Monday night, social tennis every Friday night and tournaments throughout the year. New members always welcome, all ages and levels, contact 083 1155374 to book or see

  • Butter Market – every Saturday, 10.30am-1.30pm, Market Street, Granard.  Lots of goodies on offer, home baked goods, honey, preserves, handmade soap, free range eggs, flowers and a lot more, fun for all the family.
