In 1953, Pat Higgins moved to Granard from Mayo. He established a bakery in the back of his home and became known as Pat the Baker. Since then the business has grown to what it is today, a nationwide brand delivering fresh bread daily throughout the entire island of Ireland. Indeed, Pat The Baker products are sought after by the Irish diaspora and can be obtained as far away as New York.
Mankind has been making bread for around 5,000 years now and has produced it in many different forms. Today, Pat The Baker produces bread using the latest technologies and techniques, giving longer lasting shelf-life and better tasting breads. Their attention to detail and insistence upon only the finest quality ingredients has seen Pat The Baker’s breads win numerous awards.
Pat The Baker now has eight distribution centres throughout Ireland in addition to their premises in Granard. From these centres they are able to deliver their wide range of products which include white, brown and soda breads, bracks, scones, rolls and much more.
As well as producing their own highly regarded brands, Pat The Baker are able to supply major supermarket chains with own branded products made to the same high quality.
