Kiernan Milling was established in Granard, Co. Longford in 1979. Their state-of-the-art mill is one of the largest in Ireland and produces a wide range of animal feedstuffs, from beef and milk cattle and calves to pigs and poultry. The consistent quality of their produce has built a high reputation amongst their customers and driven their growth and expansion. In 2007, Kiernan’s bought out Stewart Animal Feeds in Co. Roscommon extending their geographical presence to include Connaught and the North East.
The mill in Granard is registered for HACCP and audited annually by the Universal Feed Assurance Scheme. It is the only mill in Ireland to have in-house veterinarian services which are branded Kiernan Animal Health and have been licensed as a retail animal remedies outlet since 1981.
In line with Irish and EU legal requirements, Kiernan’s constantly monitor the quality of ingredients, their manufacturing process and the final product. Among the benefits of such monitoring has been approval by Bord Bia as a supplier of feed for egg and poultry producers. As well as Kiernan’s having their own in-house testing facilities and experienced Quality Assurance team, they also work with a number of fully accredited independent laboratories.
